The Grossman Companies, Inc. (TGC) has New England roots dating back more than 100 years. Today's real estate brokerage, management and development company was formed in 1979 by the same family that created Grossman's, a pioneer in the building materials business (creator of the "Do-It-Yourself" concept) and for many years the largest distributor of its kind in the eastern United States.

Today we continue our pioneering tradition in the areas of property development, management and brokerage. TGC has developed or redeveloped, individually or in joint venture with institutional partners and private equity groups, an impressive portfolio of commercial and residential properties totaling over two million square feet.
We've transformed troubled properties into viable real estate that brings jobs to the community, while replacing blighted buildings with pleasing structures often highlighted with specially commissioned public art. We’ve also recycled surplus schools and post offices into first-class office buildings, and old military depots into air freight terminals.
